Biography

Molly Scott has been with NC State English since the Fall of 2018. Before making a career change into University Administration, Ms. Scott performed in a variety of ensembles across the United States, including the Santa Rosa Symphony (Santa Rosa, CA), the Sacramento Philharmonic (Sacramento, CA), the Vallejo Symphony (Vallejo, CA), the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra (Sioux City, IA), the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra (Lincoln, NE) and South Florida Symphony Orchestra (Miami, FL). One of her proudest achievements was performing for three summers under esteemed conductor Lorin Maazel at the Castleton Festival, including performances of Puccini's La Boheme in Muscat, Oman. Ms. Scott taught private lessons for 8 years, and as an adjunct instructor of oboe at the University of South Dakota from 2015 to 2018. She considers herself a native of Northern California and loves everything to do with the Fine Arts.

Responsibilities

As Undergraduate Program Coordinator, Ms. Scott provides administrative coordination and support for undergraduate students in the Department of English. She processes enrollments, schedule revisions, minor declarations and certifications. Ms. Scott also serves as coordinator for the English Ambassadors--current students who have a passion for their English degree and serve as student representatives at events like Open House and Pack-a-Palooza. Ms. Scott is honored to plan and execute the department's commencement ceremonies in the winter and fall for English seniors, graduate students, and Ph.D. candidates.
